Age: 32. Sport: Captain, senior squad, Netball Ireland. Works: Physiotherapist in Mater Hospital. Greatest achievement: Captain of the national team since 2012; Republic of Ireland team breaking into top 20 rankings in 2018. Goals: “To win the Nations Cup in Singapore this year.” Motivation: “I am motivated to break new ground for the sport of netball in Ireland.” Biggest challenge: “Juggling playing for the national team, having a full-time job and having a new baby. My son, Arthur, was born last February.”
Women in sport: “I think huge progress has been made in recent years in terms of recognising women’s achievement in sport. Unfortunately, there is still a long way to go before we have equality in terms of opportunity, funding, and television coverage. Young girls need positive role models to be celebrated by our country.”
