Brogan’s winning ways look set to secure his Legacy
WHO says business and sport cannot mix? Dublin star Bernard Brogan has been making a pretty good fist of it, if news from Legacy Consultants is anything to go by. Started in 2012 by Bernard and his cousin James Brogan, it has grown steadily, even as he was helping the Dubs rack up All-Ireland titles for fun.
Ergo understands that Legacy has just employed five new team members, taking staff numbers to 16 people — up from five in 2016. That has been on the back of strong growth — circa 35pc year-on-year.
2016 marked a big step up for the agency with the hiring of Kevin Moore from Fleishman Hilliard. The business has since transitioned from a player agency to a full sponsorship and communications agency. More recent arrivals of Rachel Solon and Claire O’Grady — to head up the growing Sport & Sponsorship and Consumer & Lifestyle divisions respectively have also upped the game. New clients include Energia, LEON Restaurants, Nakd and a global contract for coconut water Fuzion100 it won in 2018 that involves a tie in with the English rugby team. The company has just refurbished both its brand and its office for good measure. The Dublin football team took on old rivals Kerry in Tralee last night, but whatever about the result on a cold winter’s night in Tralee, the real bragging rights will be had during the summer when Kerry no doubt will endeavour to stop the Dubs’ march to a legendary fivein-a-row. But if Brogan were to win his place back on the Dublin team after a long absence through injury it could make 2019 a memorable — if very busy — year indeed.
