The Good Fight RTE Player, until February 20, season 2, episodes 1-2 Season 1 of this fast-paced, well-scripted legal drama, spin-off from The Good Wife, ended with Maia Rindell’s (Rose Leslie) father Henry, taking the high road rather than stick around and face the consequences of his collapsed Ponzi scheme. Season 2 begins with the death of Carl Reddick, founding partner in Reddick, Boseman, & Kolstad, meaning all partners, Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski, left) included, are battling to save the firm and keep clients, along with the discovery that a lucrative project involving the Obamas is in jeopardy after Reddick’s death.
Meanwhile, in this world that reflects, at times closely, actual American politics, Reddick’s daughter Liz, (also Boseman’s ex-wife), has to leave her job at the Department of Justice after she tweets a criticism of Donald Trump, and is criticised for it. To stop her taking the Reddick name and becoming a competitor, Diane recruits Liz to the firm. Then, troubled by her own mortality, Diane begins microdosing with psilocybin (the psychedelic compound found in ‘magic’ mushrooms). Pure, a comedy-drama, is based on the memoir of the same name by Rose Cartwright, whose uncontrollable thoughts began when she was 15. Here, Rose becomes ‘Marine’ (played by Charly Clive), a 24-year-old from Scotland who runs away following a terrible meltdown at a family party to London, to try and find out what is wrong with her.
