Michelle’s Irish mammy

Well, now we just look like fools. After all that scouring around for Barack Obama’s ancestors, it turns out that all along Michelle has an Irish mammy. Maybe not exactly Irish in terms of actual blood, but certainly as Irish as it gets in terms of sentiment. Michelle asked her mother if she watched the Grammys, as any normal daughter would if they were on one of the biggest televised events of the calendar year. Her mother’s response? “I saw it because Gracie called me. Did you meet any of the real stars or did you run right after it was done?” By the end of the back and forth, Michelle clarified that she is a “real” celebrity: “And I Am A Real Star,” Michelle said, but her mother simply replied “Yeah.” The tart wit was so strong it could be felt through the screen and she couldn’t have been more Irish mammy than if she’d said she was going on tablets for something. We wish we had known this earlier. It would have saved us trying to come up with some Celtic DNA for Barack.
