Mariah brings Cote d’Azur to Dublin 4

-

For mere mortals, wearing a tracksuit in a ultra-plush five-star hotel would be a big nono. Mariah Carey, however, is no mere mortal.

The enormously glamorous goddess, who has sold over 200 million records worldwide — from Always Be My Baby to We Belong Together to Hero to A No No from her album Caution — arrived in the InterContinental Hotel last Saturday evening.

She brought an air of the Cote d’Azur to Dublin 4, having just flown in from Cannes on a private jet with her eight-year-old twins Roc and Roe, and boyfriend Bryan Tanaka. Staying in one of the hotel’s finest suites for four nights, the superstar and her entourage had dinner in the Reading room off the lobby dining area last Sunday evening.

She was extremely friendly and decidedly un-divaish to other guests. Mariah left the hotel at 5pm in a stunning red-and-black dress in a limo, to play her sold-out show at the 3 Arena.

Sadly for her many Irish fans, she flew out of Dublin last Wednesday night on a plane bound for (where else?) Cannes.
