The Loves of my LIFE

The person

My fiance, TJ [Reid, legendary Kilkenny hurler]. He is my best friend, and I wouldn’t want to share my life with anyone else. He is the funniest person I know, and he never fails to put a smile on my face. He is so motivated, determined, generous, and has great depth to him. I am looking forward to sharing my life with him, and can’t wait to marry him.

The memory

I was so fortunate to have the best of both worlds, as I lived in Limerick and attended school and university there, and my family spent weekends and summer holidays in Kerry. My dad, Sean, is a part-time farmer, so I was well prepared for country life in Ballyhale [Co Kilkenny, where I now live]!

The moment of the day

First thing in the morning. Each day, I wake up healthy, and this is a real blessing.

The song Mr Jones

by Counting Crows.

The book

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne — it is a book that helps train your mind to be positive.

The hero

My grandfather, John Lenihan. He lived to be almost 102 years old. He always gave me great advice, and he was very wise.

The outfit

My engagement-party outfit — I wore a white lace, backless Nadine Merabi dress, with Louboutin shoes and a red YSL bag.

The accessory

My engagement ring. I love it and what it represents. I wear it with pride.

The gadget

My heart-rate monitor for the gym — I can’t train without it.

The friend

My mum, Brid; we are so close. I phone her every day just to hear her voice.

The holiday

Heading to Kerry each summer with my family. We have such fond memories there.

The pet hate

Negative people — I can’t stand being around people who refuse to see the positives in life and in people.

The drink

Ballykeefe Gin with elderflower tonic.

The beauty product

Strobe Cream by Mac. I wear it under my foundation to give that dewy-skin look.

The piece of advice

Don’t worry about people not liking you, and accept that you’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. You could be the ripest peach in the world and there will still be someone who hates peaches.

The hotel

Mountain View in Ballyhale, Co Kilkenny — it’s not a hotel as such, but a beautiful venue with a bar, restaurant, its own golf course and amazing views.

The hobby

Online shopping and outfit planning.

The part of my body

My eyes; they tend to change colour.

The celebrity

Jameela Jamil — I adore her feminism and no-BS attitude.

The virtue

Empathy and compassion.

The vice

Selfishness and hypocrisy [in others].

The smell

Fresh sea air on holidays.

The taste

Anything my mum Brid cooks.
