Man arrested after crashing stolen car

A man in his 30s has been arrested after he crashed a stolen car and tried to hijack another on Friday night.

The crashed car had been stolen during a burglary in Maynooth, Co Kildare, last Thursday night. Gardai in Lusk, Co Dublin, received a call last Friday night alerting them the car was being driven dangerously in the area. It collided with a number of parked cars near Lusk before the driver abandoned the crashed car. He then threatened the driver of another car and tried to hijack it. He was arrested and taken to Balbriggan Garda Station.
