Tell me who I am

-

From birth until death, we are indoctrinated into a system that lures us into a world of inner insecurity. We don’t even realise this, because everything outside is so noisy and busy. We are constantly distracted and scheduled to within an inch of our lives from a very early age, which means it’s simply an impossibility for anyone to know who they really are. The system relies on this way of living, because only then can it control large numbers of people. When we don’t have adequate time to reflect and ask questions, we do just do what we’re told. We do what we’re told for a number of reasons — primarily because we were trained that way; if we don’t, we feel left out and in fear. When you step outside what’s considered the norms of society and question people’s view of the world, which is what gives them their sense of safety, they have to ostracise you, because the alternative is too terrifying for them to think about. It means they might have to face some harsh truths, like they have been lied to by people in power. Instead of constantly yearning and hoping that one day you will find yourself, we’ll play a game of hide and seek. FOUND YOU! There you go, it wasn’t that hard, was it? Now all you have to do is realise that no one is keeping some big secret from you. You have all the answers within, you just need to get quiet, listen and ensure you keep a curious and open mind. Start trusting yourself, and if the answers you get encourage you away from a ‘sheep’ mentality, then you are probably on the right path.
