PRESS Up Entertainment Group, an Irish hospitality and leisure company co-owned by Paddy McKillen Jnr, has partnered with Irish digital food-ordering company Flipdish to set up ordering systems for the group’s brands.

The company, which had been forced to temporarily lay off the majority of its 1,600 staff due to Covid-19, has delivery hubs in operation from Dublin’s Wellington Quay, Blanchardstown and Cork city centre. The kitchens in Press Up’s hubs, which are based in some of its temporarily closed or underused outlets, will serve up food for delivery from a range of the hospitality group’s brands.

While Press Up hosts websites for each of the brands, Flipdish will service the online ordering website for each individual brand.

from brands including Wowburger, Elephant & Castle, Captain Americas and Dollard Pizza.

From Dublin’s Wellington Quay, operating from its restaurant Dollard & Co, it will serve Captain Americas, Dollard Pizza, Stella Diner, Dollard Diner, Bison Bar & BBQ and its new off-licence delivery service Siopa Vino.

Elephant & Castle Beacon and Churchtown will also serve Wowburger, while its Indian restaurant Doolally will include a new Chinese food offering.

Wagamama, DIME Coffee and Angelina’s Deli will also be available through the system.

With Flipdish, Press Up plans to scale Wowburger and Elephant & Castle for collection and delivery throughout the whole of Dublin and Cork city.

James McCarthy, a co-founder of Flipdish, welcomed the addition of Press Up to the company’s online ordering systems.

“Helping them to run their hubs through our online ordering solutions has opened up a whole new target consumer market and is allowing people who may not have had access to specific brands before, to enjoy them,” he said.

Laura Arnold, head of marketing for Press Up, said the partnership would help to improve the company’s online ordering and digital presence.

Since being established in 2009, McKillen Jnr and Matt Ryan’s Press Up Entertainment Group has started 50 venues across Ireland, including hotels, bars, restaurants, cinemas and nightclubs.

Last week, it was reported that the group had launched legal action against RSA Insurance concerning the non-payment of business interruption insurance. It launched the action through a subsidiary which controls the Devlin Hotel, a hotel in Ranelagh, Dublin.
