Beetroot juice

- See feigherysfarm.ie Lucinda O’Sullivan

From borscht to pink pancakes, Russia and many other Eastern European countries are mad about beetroot. You’ll find it in everything. It’s good for what ails you, they say, including your blood pressure, which might be why health freak Vladimir Putin’s favourite dish is reputed to be beetroot and horseradish cocktail. I’ve been won over by the delicious sharp, intense flavours of Feighery’s Farm Beetroot Juice, pictured right. It’s a blend of beetroot juice and apple juice, and made, not in the Russian Steppes, but in the heart of Co Offaly.

RRP 250ml, €3.50; 500ml, €6.50.
