THIS SPORTING LIFE: Michael Jordan, Katie Taylor and Roy Keane

-

“The Last Dance was amazing,” says Graham Knox of the Netflix series about Michael Jordan, and in particular the basketball legend’s last season with the Chicago Bulls.

“I got a Scottie Pippen jersey,” says Graham of the player who won six NBA championships with the Bulls, “for Father’s Day a few weeks back, which is now one of my prized possessions. Coach Phil Jackson went to the top of the table at my dream dinner party after watching The Last Dance.”

Conor Egan: “It was the nostalgia that got me hooked on The Last Dance. Being a Bulls fan when I was younger, it was amazing to see all that unseen footage from behind the scenes, and obviously the stories that the players have to go with it makes it unmissable.”

Danny O’Reilly: “I loved The Last Dance. It was amazing to have something to look forward to every week during lockdown. I think I missed sport more than music initially, and it helped fill the void. And I think Katie Taylor is amazing.”

Graham: “Roy Keane and Eric Cantona are the reason why I started supporting Man United around 28 years ago! Loved their passion. And I find Roy absolutely hilarious as a pundit on Sky Sports these days.“

Danny: “Roy Keane is the reason I support Man United. I have always loved the way he played the game.”

Conor: “I met Roy Keane and the rest of the Irish squad before they left for USA ’94. Asking him for a photo I felt just as intimidated as it is to play football against him. He’s the type of player I miss in football these days.”
