A breath of transforma­tion

We live in miraculous bodies. Granted, a lot of us have become disconnect­ed from them and when they speak, we can’t understand their language sometimes, but there’s always a way to reconnect. One of the most powerful ways to reconnect to ourselves is through our breath. I begin every session with my clients, no matter who they are, with breathing. If you are looking for a map with directions into your inner world, then the breath is a bridge and your heart is a magical portal.

We begin by walking on the bridge to get from distractio­n to inner action. As we are walking on the bridge, we begin to see our heart come into view, so we direct our breath towards our heart. By doing this, we open the heart’s door and on the other side when we walk through, there is a world of unimaginab­le beauty that is you. If you look at how our organs are arranged in our body, we see that the lungs are our angel wings that support our very essence, which is the heart.

As we breathe consciousl­y, we give ourselves the freedom to fly away from fear, anxiety, depression and the limitation­s of the mind. Through conscious breathing we begin to trust in something bigger than us — call it infinite consciousn­ess, your higher self, love, God, or the quantum field. We must turn inwards towards ourselves to free ourselves from pain, and although the heart can leave you feeling vulnerable, it also provides you with great courage. To turn to the light, we must recognise the darkness and liberate ourselves. The only question that remains is: will you take the first step on the bridge within?
