Canal pathway a positive idea

Sir — What a brilliant suggestion by KP McEvoy (Letters, July 26) to incorporate a Shannon to Dublin water pipeline with the creation of a purpose-built water/pathway along one of the existing canals.

If, as suggested, the stakeholders could work together it could be done — and what an opportunity for the Greens to start with something simple and positive.
