This will be the summer when self-tan means either more or less than ever before. With foreign holidays mostly cancelled and staycations the 2020 alternative, there’s no pretending that actual sun is guaranteed this year. At best, in an Irish summer, it will come and go, which means while you might be in winter woollens on one day with no bare skin in sight, you might want to get out your legs — or even your togs — the next.

This is where the self-tan comes in. This will either be the summer of pale or the season that even the least inclined embrace the bottle. Today, we have five tan options that require minimum effort, don’t reek of that curry/burnt-biscuit smell, and leave the skin sun-kissed but not screaming self-tan, either. You don’t want anyone to think you snuck off to the sun, after all.
