PUT A BIT OF WOW INTO YOUR BROWS

-

and brush combo; The

Hero (€29), a tinted brow mascara; and The S.O.S, a brow and lash protein recovery mask, are just three of the must-buys helping beautistas put the ‘wow’ back into their brow.

It’s all about striking a balance between the dreaded 90s ‘skinny brow’ and ‘Scouse brow’ of the 2010s, advises brow artist Kim, herself a survivor of the former.

“The three things I always tell clients are: go with a shade lighter than your hair colour, use very little pressure when applying the product, and do small, upward strokes to create texture.

“If someone has quite a bit of hair, and just wants to enhance the brow they have, a tinted brow mascara [should do]. If you’ve very little or no hair, go for a lightweight product [like a pencil]— I wouldn’t go with a pomade or powder because they can be quite ‘stamped’ looking on the skin.

“Either way, never do long strokes because a natural brow hair would never be really long.”

Priced €60, hybrid brows — a longer-lasting upgrade on HD brows — is the most sought-after brow treatment at the Academy.

But Kim says trends like last year’s extreme brushedup brows are “hair” today, gone tomorrow: “I think that very ‘wet and set’ brow was very much a phase.

“My biggest advice is do what lends well to your face shape, and even your lifestyle,” she says.
