‘Fairytale’ returns to An Tain

-

Fairytale of Dundalk is a fundraising concert in aid of North Louth Hospice which will take place on December 22 in An Táin Theatre.

The concert ran for the first time last year, raising well in excess of €4,000 for North Louth Hospice. In combination with an album launch and sale by the Long Riders and friends, over €13,000 was raised for the charity. This year’s line up features local musicians Zoe Conway and John McIntyre who have returned from recording and touring in Germany and will also feature jazz duo Ceili Phillips and Daniel Fegan, chamber choir the Clermont Chorale, and two well known local bands The Long Riders and The Sensationals. Children are at the heart of the concert with Scoil Uí Chonghaile, Cúchulainn Celtic Strings and Oriel Youth Ensemble performing. The show will also feature local drumming group, Sunshine Souls Samba.

Many great prizes will be raffled and all prizes are sponsored by the generosity of local business owners. All performers in the concert are giving their talents for free. Sadly, in April, The Long Rider’s drummer Gene Berrill passed away. The concert this year is dedicated to the memory of this humble, talented man, who performed in last year’s concert.

Tickets are €10 and available from www. antain.ie or from the box office in Dundalk Town Hall. The concert takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday, December 22 and all proceeds go directly to North Louth Hospice.
