On Friday night I headed for the Crowne Plaza where one of the biggest Christmas parties of the year was taking place as 600 from National Pen were up for making the best of the festive celebrations.

I wasn’t too long in the door when I met up with the best man in National pen Peter Monaghan who was having a laugh with Wale Abagune who were both up for making a real night of it.

After this I caught up with Alex Belke from Newry who was looking forward to a mad night with all her workmates and was looking really well.

Heading for another table I got talking to Elke Thiel from Dublin Street, Thorsten Hiller from Tom Bellew Avenue and Michelle Moore from Rockfield Manor who were there to make it a real night to remember.

One lady who was definitely in form to make the end of year celebrations the best was Patricia Mulligan from Grange Drive who told me it was going to be a fantastic night.

I headed over for a word with Declan Hickey from Waterville Crescent who was sitting chatting to Dzana Treilone from Woodbury Gardens who assured me it was going to be an epic night.

Next I caught up with Olivier Gean and Pierre Borel both from the company who were optimistic that the night was going to be a good one.

Not too long later I got a word with Martina Legim and Anika Hinrichs both from Hoes Lane who told me it was definitely going to be a great night.

After this I made my way over for a quick word with Karen Nugent from Armagh and Joan Hovenden from Dublin who told me they were wearing their dancing shoes on so they were ready for a good night.

I then got a quick word with footballing legend Anthony Tuite from Haggardstown whom, when I asked him if the night was going to be a huge success replied “obviously”.

Heading towards the bar I caught up with a group who were relaxing with a drink and they included Derek Markey from Muirhevnamor, Peter Byrne from Knockbridge, Kelly Oakes from Greenacres, Gavin Synott from Ardee, Johnny McMullan from south Armagh, Gerry Molloy from Dunleer and Sean Hoey from Louth Village who was making a welcome return to these pages after far too long of an absence and the lads assured me it was going to be a mad night for sure.

Not too log later I met up with Gabriel De Franco from The Crescent and Michele Fabrizi who was down from Dublin specially for the party and told me it was going to be a really good night.

After this I headed over for a chat with two ladies who were looking exceptionally well and they were Angela Parkin from Fatima Drive and Fiona Dixon from Marian Park who were having a laugh with John Boland from Ashling Park who assured me it was going to be a mad one for certain.

I then headed over for a word with Jukka Vilanus and Annli Hagman both from Castle Road who told me they were on for a massive night.

Just in the door and in real party mode were Peter and Conor Dollard from Grange Drive who were on for a wild one.

Not too long later I caught up with a bunch of lads who were looking extremely sharp and they were Ciaran Matthews from The Laurels, Conor Murphy from Bay Estate, Denis Bellew from Monasterboice, Brian McCabe from Carlingford football star Ian Shiel from Hillview and Padraig English from O’Hanlon Park who were armed and ready for a real night to remember.

Finally, I got a quick word with Rebecca Belton from Blackrock, Emma Dunne from Brookwood Lawns and Susan Kieran from Tallanstown who just about to head in as the crowds were called for the meal and told me the fun was just about to get going.
