The Cuchulainn Gaels Chairman took to Facebook to congratulate the amalgamated Under 14 side for their performance at Feile.

What a weekend..... from meeting the visiting teams to Fr. McEvoy Park at 3pm on Friday, the joy at watching our guys, Cuchulainn Gaels/Cooley Kickhams playing against the Clare and Sligo champions, winning our 3 group games and progressing to the quarterfinals as group winners. Then winning our quarterfinal yesterday evening. Foot golf for the players then home to get changed. Onto food and a reception in the Cooley club house and a disco for the kids. Music for the adults by Ciaran Phillips and The Rambling String Band.

And then the semifinal today....... the joy of watching them line out in our Cuchulainn Gaels jerseys but unfortunately the lads from Hertfordshire were just too big and strong for our guys to handle. Our brilliant skill kept us within touching distance in the first half but their guys just wore us down in the second half. We lost on a score line of 5-3 to 2-2. The dream is over - well for the Feile anyway. These lads will have plenty more dreams to live. Basically Our lads were exemplary, perfectly behaved off the field, respect and grit on the field. They done us proud.

I would like to congratulate Kevin Smith and Gerry Fearon along with the Féile committee in running a brilliant spectacle in the peninsula.

There were quite a few under 13’s on the team and they are already
