Michael Hardin workshop on memoir writing

-

IF you have ever fancied putting your life story down on paper, the The Patrick Kavanagh Centre, Inniskeen, is hosting a weekend of memoir writing workshops with the acclaimed Irish writer Michael Harding.

‘ The Art of Memoir’ workshops will take place on Saturday July 21st and Sunday July 2nd in the Centre which is dedicated to Patrick Kavanagh, one of Ireland’s best loved poets. Memories of his youth growing up in Co Monaghan formed a central part of his work, making the centre the ideal location for this workshop.

Leitrim based Harding is a regular columnist with The Irish Times, delighting readers with his observations of life in rural Ireland.

His book ‘Staring at Lakes’ was named as non-fiction book of the year 2013 in the Irish Book Awards.

His latest book ‘ On Tuesdays I’m a Buddhist’ sees him ruminating on the difference between psychotherapy and religion, and relates the story of his pilgrimage to Skellig Michael in his ongoing search for meaning.

He will share his vast knowledge of writing about his life experience with workshop participants.
