Post mortem after Gosling Terrace death
A post mortem is being carried out today (Monday) on the body of a man in his early 70s who was found close to Gosling Terrace on Saturday last.
The discovery was made around 12.30pm at Gosling Terrace along the Dublin Road.
The man, who has yet to be named, was found at a stream nearby.
Dundalk gardai confirmed they are investigating all circumstances surrounding the man’s death, but it is not believed to have been suspicious. A post mortem got underway today at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, gardai are investigating the theft of an tools and machinery valued at around €1,700 from a van parked at the Dublin Road on Friday last. A lock was broken on the vehicle, and missing was a DeWalt grinder and hammer-drill and Stihl consaw. Anyone who comes across the equipment for sale, or who has informa- tion about the theft is asked to contact gardai on 042 93 88400 or the confidential telephone line on 1800 666 111.
Gardai are also investigating reports of an assault on a woman in her 30s along Rampart Lane in the early hours of Thursday last.
The woman reported she was approached by three men in dark clothing, asking for a cigarette. They stole her handbag, and medication. She was treated afterwards in hospital for minor injuries.
