Willow Grove residents protest

The Argus - - NEWS -

RESIDENTS from Willow Grove protested at the Town Hall ahead of the October meeting of the Dundalk Municipal District Committee.

The Carrick Road development has repeatedly been highlighted by councillors due to the ongoing deterioration of roads there, and calls for it to be taken in charge by the council.

Cllr. Maria Doyle said it was important to acknowledge their protests, adding that they were very aggrieved about the condition of their estate. She added that they were also very unhappy at having written twice to council CEO Joan Martin, and not receiving a response.

But Director of Service, Frank Pentony told the meeting that Willow Grove cannot be taken in charge until Irish Water carries out underground works to upgrade services. He added that there was also no money available for roadworks in the estate.
