Shane Campbell Sam Mulroy Ross Nally
With the Blues operating with two up, Shane Campbell and Paul Berrill will have Ross Nally and Conor Moore to keep tabs on. It’s a formidable task but Campbell has been rock solid for the Jocks so far, albeit against attacks that aren’t quite as effective as the Blues. You can’t do anything about Nally’s dead ball skills but limiting his effectiveness from open play could be key to a shock for the Jocks.
Andy McDonnell EoghanEoghan Callaghan
If the Blues go with Stephen Moonan in midfield again, two of the most creative forces in the county could come face-to-face. Callaghan showed his undoubted class in the semi-fnal against the Pat’s, but he too has been deployed in different roles throughout the campaign and may well start further forward. But whether they directly lock horns, Andy McDonnell and Eoghan Callaghan will be big influencers.
Emmet Carolan
Whether he starts at full forward or from the deeper role he filled in the second-half against the Pat’s, Sam Mulroy has to be a factor in the Blues’ plans and Emmet Car-Carolan looks tailor made for his county colleague. Carolan was the find of the season forfor Louth and is equally comfortable at full back or centre-half. Mulroy missed most of Louth’s campaign when it looked like he would play a key role for Pete McGrath and has bags of class. This one could be fascinating.
