Dundalk graphic designer Killian Walsh of Grandson studio has been selected as a member for the 100 Archive Professional Panel for 2018-2020.

This project selects a hundred graphic design projects to be archived each year, and to be tasked with the job of choosing those projects is a great honour for the Jocelyn Street based graphic designer.

Having worked in various design studios in Dublin, as well as being senior designer with 3 Mobile for a number of years, Killian moved back to his native Dundalk and opened Grandson studio five years.

A graduate of DIT with over 15 years experience in the creative field, Killian’s current studio practice brings together a blend of pragmatism and passion for design, using a clear and considered approach, employing well crafted solutions to a wide range of projects.

With the aim to promote good design in the locality, through charitable work, talks and event organisation, along with guest lecturing, Killian’s work as a designer is reflected in the studio’s balance between commercial work with cultural practice, with an ethos of collaborative inclusion and creativity. Clients include Louth County Council, DkIT, Dundalk FC, Creative Spark, Blackrock village, and local businesses such as The Rum House, McGahon Architects, Pinstripe Punk, Niamh Carter, The Brake and The Clermont Arms, as well as clients around the country.

‘Becoming part of the judging panel for the 100 Archive is an honour and it’s great to proactively give something back to the industry, and the Irish design community,’ he said, adding that he is looking forward to seeing the works and being part of the critical selection process.
