Pumpkin festival

-

The third annual Blackrock Pumpkin Festival took place the night before Halloween and once again it was an event geared for family, especially children.

The organisers were again the Blackrock and Tourism Development Group and followed the format largely of the previous two years.

Families were invited to come dressed up with their carved pumpkins and place them on the promenade wall to warn off evil ghosts and ghouls entering the village during Halloween.

They were afforded the opportunity to watch three white witches brew up a protection spell at the most mythical place in the village, the Sundial! Broom parking was available.

The festival also comprised a fancy dress BlackWalk led by the creepy Samba Band crew to the beach to cast the protection spell over the village and banish the evil Halloween spirits.

Spooktacular candlelit piano playing with scary surprises on the beach added to the enjoyment.
