Dkit produces a win for region every year

-

DUNDALK as we know won the league and cup double this season, but long, long before their first league and cup double in 1979 the town won the jackpot and every year the town and region wins a major success as an educated workforce leaves the hallowed halls of Dundalk Institute of Technology.

It is an annual win that that might not be celebrated in the same exuberant manner of Dundalk’s victory in the Aviva Stadium, but last Thursday and Friday just over 1,300 students were conferred with academic awards from DkIT.

Those students come from all over the country, but mainly from the northeast with a significant number coming from the immediate hinterland of the Dublin Road campus.

Those students have brighter prospects for their education, they have been able to study locally easing the financial pressure on their families, they have contributed to the local economy and the staff and Institute also contribute to the local economy.

Some wins make headlines, some don’t but are just or even more important.
