GATHERING OF FRIENDS AGM
The AGM of the Knockbridge Gathering of Friends group was held recently. The following committee was elected: chairperson, Michael McNally, vice-chairperson, Bridie Curran, treasurer and PRO, Philip Kelly, assistant treasurer Pauline Woods, secretary John Larkin. Committee members Sandra Dufy, Bernie Larkin, Madge Quigley, Gerry Quigley, Teresa Smyth and Frank Woods were also elected,
The Gathering of Friends is a monthly get-together for people in the area to meet over a cup of tea or coffee and homemade treats. It is now in its fourth year
and meets on the last Wednesday of each month between 11am and 12.30pm at Stephenstown Pond. It is the ideal occasion for people to meet up for a chat who might not otherwise have the opportunity to do so. New members are always most welcome–just come along on the day.

Baptisms take place every fourth Sunday of the month at 11.30am mass and a baptism course will be held each month with course dates posted in the Church Porch. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Mondays from 10.00am to 10.00pm in the Church followed by Benediction at 10.00p.m. Confessions are available on Mondays before 7.30 Mass and from 9.30pm-10.00pm, at the end of Eucharist Adoration, and at any time by request. If you wish to have your home blessed please contact Fr Gerry or Fr Paddy.
The Church Choir is looking for new members so if you are interested please contact Grainne or the priests. From December a new organist is needed so contact Grainne McGeeney or Fr Gerry.
Mass for those that who died since last November takes place this Saturday, November 10, at 7.30pm. Refreshments afterwards in the Parish Centre. Mass of the Angels for babies who died before or after birth will be on Saturday, November 24, at 6.00pm in Kilkerley. Refreshments afterwards in the Community Centre.
The Finance Committee meet on Tuesday, November 20, in the Parochial House at 8.00pm. As Ann Manning retires from her sacristan role at year end application forms and Job Description for the vacancy are available from the church. It’s a 20 hours a week role, which includes the smooth running of St Mary’s Church activity at all times including liturgical events and cleaning. Knockbridge Tidy Towns have Community Employment positions available doing general environmental maintenance, grass cutting, using lawnmowers, strimming, weeding, litter control, spraying, sweeping, pruning, planting, digging and other general and occasional duties relating to daily procedures and requirements across all the project areas. Knockbridge lost in the Leinster Club Junior Championship quarter- final 2-21 to 0-7 against Dunnamaggin of Kilkenny at Dowdallshill on Saturday last.
