GATH­ER­ING OF FRIENDS AGM

The AGM of the Knock­bridge Gath­er­ing of Friends group was held re­cently. The fol­low­ing com­mit­tee was elected: chair­per­son, Michael McNally, vice-chair­per­son, Bri­die Cur­ran, trea­surer and PRO, Philip Kelly, as­sis­tant trea­surer Pauline Woods, sec­re­tary John Larkin. Com­mit­tee mem­bers San­dra Dufy, Bernie Larkin, Madge Quigley, Gerry Quigley, Teresa Smyth and Frank Woods were also elected,

The Gath­er­ing of Friends is a monthly get-to­gether for peo­ple in the area to meet over a cup of tea or cof­fee and home­made treats. It is now in its fourth year

and meets on the last Wed­nes­day of each month be­tween 11am and 12.30pm at Stephen­stown Pond. It is the ideal oc­ca­sion for peo­ple to meet up for a chat who might not oth­er­wise have the op­por­tu­nity to do so. New mem­bers are al­ways most wel­come–just come along on the day.

PARISH NEWS

Bap­tisms take place ev­ery fourth Sun­day of the month at 11.30am mass and a baptism course will be held each month with course dates posted in the Church Porch. Ado­ra­tion of the Blessed Sacra­ment takes place on Mon­days from 10.00am to 10.00pm in the Church fol­lowed by Bene­dic­tion at 10.00p.m. Con­fes­sions are avail­able on Mon­days be­fore 7.30 Mass and from 9.30pm-10.00pm, at the end of Eucharist Ado­ra­tion, and at any time by re­quest. If you wish to have your home blessed please con­tact Fr Gerry or Fr Paddy.

The Church Choir is look­ing for new mem­bers so if you are in­ter­ested please con­tact Grainne or the priests. From De­cem­ber a new or­gan­ist is needed so con­tact Grainne McGeeney or Fr Gerry.

Mass for those that who died since last Novem­ber takes place this Satur­day, Novem­ber 10, at 7.30pm. Re­fresh­ments af­ter­wards in the Parish Cen­tre. Mass of the An­gels for ba­bies who died be­fore or af­ter birth will be on Satur­day, Novem­ber 24, at 6.00pm in Kilk­er­ley. Re­fresh­ments af­ter­wards in the Com­mu­nity Cen­tre.

The Fi­nance Com­mit­tee meet on Tues­day, Novem­ber 20, in the Parochial House at 8.00pm. As Ann Man­ning re­tires from her sac­ristan role at year end ap­pli­ca­tion forms and Job De­scrip­tion for the va­cancy are avail­able from the church. It’s a 20 hours a week role, which in­cludes the smooth run­ning of St Mary’s Church ac­tiv­ity at all times in­clud­ing litur­gi­cal events and clean­ing. The new pastoral coun­cil for Kilk­er­ley Knock­bridge were com­mis­sioned in St Marys Church on Satur­day last at 7.30pm mass. Knock­bridge mem­bers are: Jac­inta Collins, Peggy McCreesh, Ea­mon McEn­teggart, Madge Quigley, Ni­amh Sweeney.
