Garda searches still ongoing for murdered Giedre
Searches are ongoing for information on the disappearance of Lithuanian woman Giedre Raguckaite, as part of the murder investigation launched by Louth gardai.
Giedre was known to have stayed at a number of addresses in Dundalk after her arrival in Ireland from England last April.
Her last known address was at College Heights on Hoey’s Lane. Her family in Lithuania reported her missing during the summer months, after not being able to contact her.
Gardai initially launched a missing person’s case, but upgraded it to murder earlier this month when new evidence came to light.
Giedre was last seen alive at a house in Beach Grove, Laytown, with two men on May 29th 2018.
Gardai say they believe she was unconscious when she was brought into the house by two men. She has not been seen since.
A technical examination was carried out at the house.
A search was also carried out in the Bettystown area last week for further clues about her disappearance
Gardai are continuing to appeal for any information – especially from those who may have seen her enter the house in Laytown.
Her last known address was at a house in College Heights. She moved out of the property on 23 May and it is not known where she stayed between then and 29 May, although Gardaí say she may have been with friends.
The last confirmed contact she had was with her father – who lives in Lithuania – by phone at 6.35pm in early June.
As part of the appeal gardaí are seeking assistance from the public, and the Lithuanian community in particular, for details on: Anyone who provided accommodation – temporary or otherwise – for Giedre since 23 May, no matter how short the stay, or anyone who has seen her on or since 29 May.
Anyone who has any information surrounding her disappearance on 29 May.
