Omeath sewerage system plans
Irish Water are hosting a public meeting, set to take place next week in Omeath, on plans for a new sewerage scheme in the area.
A spokesperson confirmed: ‘Irish Water is working to end the unacceptable practice of discharging untreated wastewater into Carlingford Lough by developing a new Wastewater Treatment Plant as part of the Omeath Sewerage Scheme.’
The proposed scheme, expected to be completed in 2020, will improve the water quality in Carlingford Lough.
‘We would like to invite you to an information evening in the The Dolmen Centre, Omeath to learn more about the next phase of this project.’
‘During this information event members of the project team will be available to answer any questions you may have in relation to the project.’
The event has been organised for The Dolmen Centre from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday November 27th. All are welcome to attend .
