-

GEORGE Casey known as ‘Wee Georgie’ was a well known figure in Dundalk and continues to be remembered.

There will be an opportunity to remember him, on the 50th anniversary of his death, this Wednesday, November 28 at 7pm in the County Museum.

The get-together will include words, music and visuals. Stanley Millen and Jim Johnstone will take part along with the audience who can bring along their memories and stories.

There is a headstone in St Patrick’s graveyard which was erected due to the generosity of the people of the town. The verse on the headstone points to the fact that Georgie was a sign to the people of the town. Younger people are encourage to come along and learn more about the history of the town and a man who is said to have died at the age of 110.
