Fyffes Fit Squad return to two local schools for workout

-

Following successful visits to four Dundalk schools ahead of the summer break, Fyffes ‘Fit Squad’ initiative is returning to the town with another two events in the pipeline.

On November 23rd next, 120 pupils from Saint Nicholas Monastery NS on Philip Street and Redeemer Boys’ NS in Ard Easmuinn will participate in the hour-long, interactive session aimed at promoting healthy eating and an active lifestyle, es- pecially amongst young people.

Delivered by Irish health and fitness expert, Tom Dalton, topics covered will include an active workout plus talks and tips on healthy eating, all designed to improve children’s general fitness through engaging and fun-filled activities.

The pilot programme – launched in May and implemented across a two-month period – saw over 2,500 children participate in some 45 inter- active sessions in 22 locations throughout Ireland.

In light of its popularity, Fyffes has expanded the schedule with the aim of reaching a further 1,500 children in 20 locations before the end of December next.

Schools and sports clubs interested in participating in the project are asked to visit www. fyffesfitsquad.ie
