CHAINSAW ACCUSEDFOR TRIAL
A 38-year-old man accused of charges arising out of an incident in a pub car-park when he allegedly had a chainsaw, has been returned for trial to the circuit criminal court.
Conor McLoughlin, 11 Cloch Mór Cottages, Knocknagoran, Omeath, is charged with having a chainsaw with the intention to unlawfully cause injury to or intimidate a person by getting a chainsaw from a car and walking from the car-park to the front door of Howes Bar where customers were present.
He is further accused of damaging a motor vehicle at Howes Bar, Knocknagoran.
The offences are alleged to have occurred on 22 December, 2017.
A book of evidence was served and the court heard the DPP consents to a return for trial to Dundalk circuit criminal court on 20 November.
The defendant was given legal aid for a solicitor and barrister.
