JURISDICTION REFUSED

The district court has refused jurisdiction in the case of a man accused of assault and other charges in a betting office.

Patrick Murphy (45), 12 Lisheen Park, Knockbridge, is charged with assaulting a member of staff, causing her harm; entering as a trespasser to commit assault causing harm and damaging a staff only area door at Bar One Racing, Park Street on 9 July last.

After hearing from the alleged victim, the judge refused jurisdiction, and adjourned the matter to 9 January next for a book of evidence.
