The Geraldines will review their past year’s activities with their annual general meeting taking place on Wednesday November 21 at 8pm sharp.

The venue will be the clubrooms at McGeough Park and will be preceded by Mass for deceased members at 7.30pm.

All new and intending members are welcome. for the family, with his two brothers finishing also among the prizes.

Runner-up was David Kelly, followed in sequence by Richard Smyth, Tommy Lennon, Ed Smyth, David Donegan, Eddie Maguire and Gerry Daly.

The stretch between Saint Oliver Plunkett Church and the Crescent turns and twists quite a lot with in the middle the sharp turn up the steep Rock Road hill that holds much danger with vehicles crossing in and out of the junction.

It is therefore eminently sensible and welcome that white markings exhorting drivers to drive slow have been painted along the stretch.

No doubt a serious incident along the stretch which necessitated the attendance of the Gardai, Fire and Ambulance services and caused the closedown of the road not so long ago prompted or spurred this measure to be taken.

Hopefully all motorists will obey the caution.
