Library exhibition for self-taught artist James

LOCAL artist James Muckian is holding his third solo exhibition in Dundalk Library, opening on Thursday night at 6pm.

Entitled ‘Astral Rain’, the exhibition sees James addressing the themes of climate change and the cosmos.

A self-taught artist, James says he was always interested in art and it was when he retired from working as a hair stylist that he began to work on his developing his art technique. He completed an art-related course with VTOS in Chapel Street and enjoyed it so much that he now hopes to study fine art in Belfast on a part time basis.

Working from his home studio, James creates large scale brightly coloured paintings.

He loves working with vibrant colours which he finds lifts his mood.

James’ exhibition of 33 paintings runs for ten days.
