Phil recalls golden career

-

DERRY born Phil Coulter looks back at a successful career spanning five decades in his latest show ‘Gold and Silver Days’ which comes to An Tain Arts Centre on Saturday night.

Very few in the music business can boast of having chart entries in every decade since the sixties. Even fewer can match the range of Phil’s output – from Eurovision winners to folk classics, from tender ballads to sporting anthems, from Luke Kelly to Elvis Presley!

His new show, Gold & Silver Days, will feature Phil’s personal favourites as he trawls through his 50 years of creativity.

As he says himself, “It will be a different and interesting collection – some of the big hits alongside some that I thought should have been hits!’

He is best known for his ode to his native Derry -’ The Town I Loved So Well’ and has also written classics including ‘Scorn Not His Simplicity’, ‘Ireland’s Call’, Eurovision winning ‘Puppet On A String’ and ‘Congratuations’.

Tickets €27, are available from from 9332332 or www. antain.ie
