WOULDN’T ANSWER QUESTION

A 28-year-old man who answered a particular question during a garda interview with ‘no comment’ has avoided a conviction on a charge of failing to give information.

Instead, the matter against James King, 3 Rockfield Park, Ardee was struck out after he made a €200 donation to Ardee Day Care Centre.

Garda Niall McIntyre said the defendant replied ‘no comment’ when a question was put to him under the Road Traffic Act at Dundalk garda station on 2 May, 2017.
