Oriel set to carry out investigation works offshore
DUNDALK based firm Oriel Windfarm Ltd have applied for a ‘foreshore approval’ to carry out site investigation works for a proposed wind farm development.
The company are seeking the approval to conduct geophysical, geotechnical, ecological and metocean site investigation works for the proposed site off the coast of Dundalk.
In their application Oriel have sought the foreshore approval ‘for the purpose of carrying out site investigation works to acquire baseline data for wind farm design, wind resource and environmental studies of the proposed Oriel Wind Farm project 22km off the coast of Dundalk, and to carry out further environmental studies of the area in the vicinity of the proposed development.’
A copy of the application and the relevant maps, plans, reports and drawings is available for inspection until Tuesday December 18th.
Any person who wishes to make an objection to, or a representation in respect of the grant of the consent sought should do so in writing, giving reasons, to Marine Environment – Foreshore Section, Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, Newtown Road, Wexford or foreshore@housing.gov.ie.
The closing date for submissions is close of business on December 21st.
