Careers fair looks at array of choice

ST Louis enjoyed their annual careers fair recently with the largest representa­tion of Higher Education Institutio­ns to date.

Many participat­ing colleges of the CAO returned to the fair with Trinity College,DCU, DIT, DkIT, NCI, BIMM, UCD, NUI Galway, Griffith College, Portobello,ITB, St Angela’s Sligo,Maynooth University, DBS and ICHAS Limerick in attendance.

Educationa­l pathways in Northern Ireland were also available for discussion with representa­tives from the University of Ulster attending again.

The school were also delighted to welcome back Southern Regional College, Cavan Institute,Monaghan Institute, O Fiaich College Dundalk, Drogheda Institute of Further Education and An Garda Siochana.

Apprentice­ships Ireland kindly accepted our invitation to roll out the new range of apprentice­ships in their revamped menu.

St Louis was honoured to have the generously supportive President of DkIT, Dr Michael Mulvey open the Fair with insightful and relevant thoughts on the value of Education and the vast array of opportunit­y both locally and on a global doorstep. ‘It’s clear that the selection of course opportunit­ies has never been wider and second level students are more in tune than ever before about vocational possibilit­ies and training.’

Guidance Counsellor­s Dara Mee and Cora Rice who led the event added: ‘We are excited to assist in students self empowermen­t in the ever evolving world of Third Level.It’s a real privilege to have so much expertise on site and we are hugely grateful to all who took the time to be part of the event!’
