THE club held the AGM in the clubrooms on Monday 26 November and there was a great turn out.

Barry McDermott chaired the meeting and began by welcoming everyone and pausing for a moments reflection to remember recently deceased members and family members.

The meeting included reports from the chaiman, secretary and treasurer and robust discussion­s on the health of the club and highlighti­ng recent success with the first team. There was a lengthy discussion on the challenges being faced by all clubs with regard to declining youth numbers.

GERALDINES

THE AGM took place on Wednesday 21st November in the clubhouse and was well attended. An extract of the elected committee for the coming year is as follows: President Oliver Brennan; Vice President Fr. Padraig Keenan; Chairperso­n Brian Cafferty; Vice Chairperso­n Bernard McIntyre and Alan Sweeney; Secretary Paula Hand; Treasurer Colm Prendergas­t. Our best wishes to all elected officers for the coming season and our sincere thanks to those outgoing officers who have worked tirelessly for the club.

Our Ladies presentati­on evening will take place on Friday 30th November in the clubhouse from 7.30 pm. This is sure to be a great night with music and craic.

Our local Schools Incentive Programme continues this Friday in St. Oliver’s Blackrock. Great feedback so far from both staff and children. Our thanks to Frank Lynch & Company for kindly supporting and sponsoring this important initiative. Thanks also to any mentors who are assisting with the programme.

We continue to get great numbers at our Juvenile Winter Developmen­t Programme. This continues every Saturday @ DkIT Sports for all children in U8 and above. If unsure of your time slot please refer to your coach. Huge thanks to all coaches, mentors, parents and volunteers who make themselves available each Saturday to ensure an enjoyable experience is had by all.

MILLMOUNTH­ANDBALL

THE club would like to congratula­te Keenan Harrison on his excellent performanc­es in the under 15tns Leinster Wall Ball singles championsh­ips held in Ballacolla handball club last Saturday.

The lucky winner of our €50 euro club lottery bonus ball draw last week Mary Smith.

Congrats and very well done to Sarah Kral who came our clear winner of our juvenile top ace score competitio­n with an excellent top score of 12 aces.

Next Friday night wìll see the return of our adult top ace score Christmas competitio­n where the lucky winner will receive a €20 voucher for Tuites Butchers.

Our one wall training continues every Wednesday night in St Mary’s diocesan school at 5pm to 6pm until further notice.

Club membership is now due adult fees €40, juvenile fees €10 Membership forms are available at Coke hall reception and also from our club secretary.

Our club registrati­ons will take place on Friday 14th December at Coke hall.

The Leinster 40x20 championsh­ips wìll begin the first week in January 2019 and club players should note that our 40x20 training at Gormanston College sports complex continues every Thursday night.

The Leinster GAA handball convention will take place on Sunday 13th January at the Courtyard hotel Lexlip Co Kildare. Our juvenile handball coaching for boys and girls continues every Friday night. WE held a very well attended AGM on Friday evening. All present at the AGM agreed that there was a huge amount of activities happening in the club and that it was a great endorsemen­t of the work been done by all our volunteers. County Board Chairman Des Halpenny was asked to address the meeting and spoke of the exciting times ahead for the club with the developmen­t of the new facilities at Ballybaili­e which will be a fantastic addition to the club and to the entire local community. He also spoke of the honour for the club in been selected from over 2500 clubs nationwide to participat­e in the GAA’s Healthy Club Project which strives to put the club at the ‘Heart of the Community’.
