IT is with great sadness that the family of Anne Carroll, Mourne Vale, Dundalk, announces her passing after a tragic accident on Tuesday, 6 November, 2018. Her husband Oliver died just ten months before in January.

Aged 77, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pettigrew and was born in August, 1941 in Belfast.

She moved to Dundalk 46 years ago after she married Oliver Carroll in 1965. They lived in Belfast for a number of years prior to then.

A loving mother, friend and home maker, Anne was a remarkable cook. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family and extended family and friends, most especially over the holidays.

She was a very kind, loving, person. She loved her garden and could bring anything back to life.

She also was a keen walker, and completed the Dublin mini-marathon a number of times and in the process raised money for charity.

Anne was also predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Patsy; sisters, Philomena Lynch and Margaret Wilson, along with her loving husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Carroll Goldrick; son-in-law, Ken Goldrick; son, Eamonn Carroll and his partner, Natalie Gregory; grandchildren, Dillon and Ruby, as well as her brother, Felix; sisters, Isobel O’Connor, Geraldine Pettigrew, Teresa Caulfield; brothers-in-law, Kevin, John, Leo and Jim; sisters-in-law, Agnes, Alice, Maureen and Noreen; nieces, nephews, extended family relatives, wonderful neighbours and friends.

The family would like to thank the emergency services, family circle, neighbours and friends for all their kindness and support during this difficult time.

Month’s Mind Mass for Anne is at 11am on Sunday, 9 December, 2018 in the Holy Family Church.

The late Anne Carroll.
