Big lights switch-on at Omeath Festivity Weekend

OMEATH Tidy Towns Action Group in conjunctio­n with Cuchulainn Gaels present ‘Omeath Christmas Lights Festival’ over the weekend of the 8th December.

The festivitie­s will start this coming Saturday December 8 at 3:30pm till 4:30pm with a Kids Disco in The Strand Hotel, Omeath. Santa himself will be arriving by steam train to meet and greet the kids before heading for a Christmas Workshop hosted by the local Scout Group between 4:45pm and 5:30pm in Howes function room. There will be mulled wine, mince pies and hot chocolate served by Cafe Rosa. Santa will then proceed to the Crossroads for the Blessing of the Christmas Tree and Crib at 5:30pm before switching on the lights at 5:45 and finally there will be a Christmas Family Movie for all in The Granvue Hotel at 6pm.

The weekend will close on Sunday December 9 with Omeath Tidy Towns present- ing the brilliant Tenor, David Martin. The show also features Soprano, Niamh McCormack, and pianist, Jillian Saunders, and will take place in the Dolmen Centre, Omeath, at 8pm on Sunday evening. There will be a pre-concert reception in the Dolmen Centre from 7.00pm.
