-

LOOKING for a Christmas gift with a difference? One that’s unique and made locally. Then why not drop into Bridge Street Studio where a host of talented artists and makers are welcoming visitors to their gallery and gift shop every Saturday from 12.30pm to 5pm between now and Christmas.

The studios were founded in 1995 and currently have eight members; painters Orlaith Cullinane and Orla Barry, ceramic artists Sarah Mckenna and Mary Cowan along with textile artists Rachel Tinniswood, Fiona Quigley and Caoilfionn Murphy O’ Hanlon and new member artist Lisa Sherry.

A broad range of gift ideas to suit all tastes and pockets such as paintings, prints, textiles and ceramics from €5 to €500 will be available.

For those who like to pick up a piece of affordable artwork, artist Orlaith Cullinane is selling life drawing sketches for just €10. These are all original drawings - straight from the easel - made during live sessions with life models - in sizes from A3 to A1.

The artists are also inviting everyone to go along to see what goes on behind the scenes in the workspaces of an art studio.

Bridge Street Studios at 97 Bridge Street is tucked away discreetly behind distinctive blue lattice gates in an 18th century building opposite St Nicholas church. 2
