Last orders called at Callan’s off licence

-

IT was the end of an era in Park Street as the shutters came down on Callan’s off licence for the last time on Sunday afternoon.

The family-run business had traded at 40/41 Park Street since 1941 and Kevin and Mary Callan announced their plans to retire and sell the business earlier this year.

Posting on their Facebook page, Kevin, Mary and son Niall extended their ‘ heartfelt gratitude to all that have played a part in the Callan journey at 40/41 Park Street.’

‘From long standing loyal customers which were the core of our business to a fantastic supplier network and supportive neighbours and staff over the last 8 decades we could not have done it without you,’ they said.

‘ The journey has been exciting, challenging and while sadly it is at its end, it has served us with both many lasting memories and amazing relationships with so many that we now call friends. And so, we say a massive thank you to each and every one of you that have been part of the Callan’s 77 Year Journey.’

The landmark business premises is for sale though Philip A. McArdle & Son Auctioneers.
