A 38-year-old man who admitted being intoxicate­d in a public place has had the charge struck out after paying €200 to charity.

The court heard from a garda who said Seán Levins, 6 Mountain Court, Point Road, was unable to stand in Park Street on 22 December, 2017, and was arrested.

Solicitor, Niall Lavery added his client is unemployed. He has no previous conviction­s.

Legal aid was granted.
