PAIDFOR DAMAGETOCAR

-

A 40-year-old man who caused more than €1,400 damage to a car has had a criminal damage charge struck out.

Judge Coughlan made that order after hearing Dwayne Russell, 6 Whitechapel Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, paid full compensation of €1,480 in respect of the driver’s door of a Toyata Altezza.

He previously admitted a criminal damage charge arising out of an incident in River Lane, Dundalk, on 26 June, 2016.

On that occasion, Russell’s solicitor said he was running backwards when he accidentally ran into the vehicle.

Last week, solicitor Paula Tiernan added her client is unemployed. He had saved for a long time to meet the repair bail.

It was accepted the injured party that what occurred was not intentional.
