Callans Golf Society, Philipstow­n have an outing to Mannan Castle Golf Club this Saturday, January 12, with Tee Time of 10.30am.

5 K RUN

January marks the start of RTE’s Operation Transforma­tion and as part of the launch, Louth Local Sports Partnershi­p are looking to involve local GAA clubs, so Kilkerley Emmets are hosting a walk this Saturday, January 12, at 11.00am on the walking track around the club grounds. For health and safety reasons no dogs allowed in the grounds or on the walking track.

DANCING

Dancing in Kilkerley Community Centre on Sunday next January 13, with music by Twice Shy. Showbud play on January 20 and Curtis Magee on January 27. Dancing from 9.00pm to midnight.

JIVE CLASSES

Beginners Jive classes take place Kilkerley Community Centre each Tuesday evening at 7.30 pm and also each Tuesday evening Pilates takes place in the Centre at 6.30pm. Contact 0851048491 for details.

PARISH NEWS

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each Friday from 6.30p.m.-7.30p.m.

Baptisms take place every second Sunday of the month at 10.00am mass. Confession will take place after 6.00p.m Mass on Saturdays and before Mass on First Fridays.

Epilepsy Ireland Annual Church Gate Collection takes place this weekend January 12/13.

During mass this Sunday all children who were baptised since last January will receive a special blessing and a certificat­e. Refreshmen­ts afterwards in the Community Centre.

The Baptism Team meet in the Parochial House, Knockbridg­e on next Tuesday night at 7.00pm.

The Finance Committee meet on Thursday night January 24, at 8.30pm in the Parochial House, Knockbridg­e.

Bowls continue in the Community Centre from 7.45pm each Wednesday night. New members welcome.

BADMINTON

Badminton for adults in the Community Centre on Monday nights from 8.00pm to 10.00pm. All over 18 welcome.

The Foroige Club continues each Friday evening at 8.00pm in the Community Centre as does Lady Birds and Girl Guides at 6.00pm and Brownies at 7.00pm..

EMMETS GFC

The GAA National Club Draw tickets are on sale. Prizes include holidays, car, All Ireland Final tickets, vouchers. All proceeds from sales go to club funds. Tickets on sale from any committee member. Priced €10.

Membership fees for 2019 are now due and can be submitted at a registrati­on night in the Community Centre on Friday, January 25, from 7.30pm.

This organisati­on is looking for new volunteers who will be Parish Ambassador­s in the Armagh Diocese to help raise awareness of the challenges facing the world’s poorest communitie­s and the difference been made by support from Ireland. LOURDES COMMITTEE

Anyone interested in travelling to Lourdes on the Armagh Diocesan Pilgrimage from May 16 to May 21, 2019, are reminded that we are already making travel plans so please get in touch with any Committee member.
