THE Leinster Printmaking Studio celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2018 with an exhibition featuring work by all members past and present, as well as guest printmakers.

The result was an impressive collection of work which allowed the participating artists to demonstrate their influences, inspirations and personal style.

The exhibition, which comes to the Basement Gallery, An Tain Arts Centre, features the work of studio members includ- ing Margaret Becker, Amelia Peart, Alice Beresford, Pamela de Brí, Val Hennigan and Michele Sweetman.

Blackrock based artist Constance Short is among the invited artists along with Lars Nyberg, James McCreary, Alice Hanratty, Geraldine O’Reilly, Brian Lalor, Brian Barry and many others.

The Leinster Printmaking Studio was founded by Dubliner Margaret Becker in 1998 at the Presentation Convent, Clane, Co. Kildare with ten members and one printing press. In 2003, the Leinster Printmakig Studio moved to larger premises in Marron’s Court, Clane, to accommodate the needs of the growing membership.

The exhibition opens with a preview reception on Wednesday January 9th at 7pm and continues until February 16. It is open daily, Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, admission free. A new season of drama workshops for seven to twelve year olds gets underway at An Táin Arts Centre on Friday January 12 at 4pm.
