Out with the old and in with 2019
One pub that is always worth a visit on New Years Eve is Courtneys and as I expected the place was filling nicely by the time I arrived.
I was only in the door when I got talking to Mark Watters from and Catriona Rooney both from Saltown who were looking extremely well and told me they were looking forward to an epic night and certainly wouldn’t be going anywhere else to see in the New Year.
Two ladies who were looking very well on the night were Roisin Curley from Dromiskin and Laura Hanberry from Manydown Close whom I had the pleasure of meeting up with next and they were in great form, happy enough with the crack there, they said they’d probably stay, but were keeping their options open.
I then headed for a table where I got taking to Kyle Rafferty from New Muirhevna, Graham Stevens and Craig Callan both from Bay Estate and Mark Lee from Avenue Road who had their seats and weren’t going to be moved from them and were expecting an epic one.
Not too long later I then got talking to Emily Mulpeter from Bay Estate and Jordan O’Donoghue from Avenue Road who were in form to see in the New Year in real style.
Next, I headed over for a chat with Dean Carroll from Point Road, and Terence Kelly from the Quay who were up for an insane night and knew it was going to be happening in Courtneys.
I then headed for a table where I caught up with a group who included Emmet Woods from Mountpleasant, Eoghan McGee from Ballybarrack, Liam McCartney from Ardee Terrace, Rachel Watters from the Quay, Kaylem Parkland from Muirhevnamor who was sitting with Eve Keenan from Greenacres and Busty Watters Jnr from Fr. Murray Park who assured me it was going to be an insane night.
They were also on the company of Ryan Woods from Ashling Park, Shane Barron from Cullinstown, Hannalore Mackle from Priory Villas, Breda Coburn from Mill Road, Gavin Markey from Cooley Park and Tiernan Dowdall from Louth Village who assure me it was going to be a massive night now they were all together.
I then headed for another table where I had the pleasure of meeting up with Amy Begley from Bellurgan, Niamh O’Rourke from Darver, Caitlin Curley originally from L.A. but home to Dromiskin for the festive period. The ladies told me not to forget to give a mention for Naoise McCarthy from Blackrock, because if her name was missed out, she might sulk, on NYE, we couldn’t have that Naoise!
Finally, before I departed, I caught up with Alanah Bond from Muirhevnamor and Elea- nor McElroy from Carrick Road who assured me they were there for a mad night.
If you were looking for the best dressed people on New Years Eve then surely the Russells Glitz and Glamour Ball had to be high on the list.
I wasn’t too long in the door when I met up with Ollie Smith from Haggardstown who was there with ‘ his angels’ and they included Catherine Gillespie from Tyrone, Saorla Mundow from Blackrock, Elizabeth Reilly from Holly Park and Niamh Mundow from Redbarns Road who were all looking exceptionally well and were there to party the night away.
Also sitting at the same table were Shauna Donnelly from Cypress Gardens and Greta Krumina from Lisdoo who were looking stunning and told me it was going to be a fantastic night for sure.
If you’re gonna wear a suit and look well then take advice from Finn Conroy from Parnell Park and Darren Glynn from Dublin who were easily the sharpest dressed men there and assured me they were there to party.
I then headed for a table where I caught up with Jason Thompson from Kingswood and Grainne Black from Gibbstown who were settled in and said they were going to have an epic night.
Not too long later I then got a word with Aoife Gorman from Redbarns Road wo was up for a night of fun with Elizabeth McEneaney and Heather Cunningham both from Crossmaglen. The ladies were up for a fantastic night with everyone there.
I headed over to a couple who were looking forward to the best Russells had to offer and they were Ryan Weir from Forkhill and Keelyann Quinn from Avenue Road who were waiting for the arrival of 2019.
Not too far away I got talking to Tracy McGeeney from Inniskeen and Stephen Murphy from ‘ The Hack’ who told me there was no other spot in town they would even consider seeing in the New Year in.
Seated up near the bar I then got talking to Mark and Michelle McCumiskey from Lordship who were in great form and looking forward to a real party.
Also seated up at the bar and dressed exceptionally well were the Carlingford trio of Mary Harrison, Liz O’Reilly and Yvonne Murphy who assured me it was going to an epic New Year celebration.
Finally, before I departed, I caught up with Geraldine Cassidy from Newry, Siobhan Duffy from Muirhevnamor, Dara Mughal from Dromiskin, Ciara Quigley from Kilkerley and Jennifer Doyle from Muirhevnamor who were looking stunning and were having a great laugh together and were ready t party all the way into 2019 Hannah Kerley, Cooley Park and Allana Smyth, Mullaharlin Road in Courtney’s Bar.
