RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR IN STYLE

-

One place that was definitely worth a visit on New Years Eve was the Imperial Hotel and by the time I got there the place was packed with party revellers.

I wasn’t too long in the door when I met up with Shauna Kearney from Dromiskin who was with Liam Fox from Mayo who told me they were only in for a few swifties and would be checking out some of the other pubs before the year change.

Next, I got talking to a bunch of lads who included Colin Mulligan from Stillorgan who was sporting a broken hand and he was with Ryan Kavanagh from Doolargy Avenue, Francie and Jimmy Fisher from Barton Park, Barry Morgan from Omeath who all assured me they were going ‘disco dancing’ in Bru’s later on and couldn’t wait to see Colin’s one hand dancing!

After this I headed over for a word with Serena and Kenneth Carr from Riverside Close who were having a few swifties and were thinking about heading for the Rum House and Ridleys afterwards to relive the good old days but were a bit worried they’d bump into son Barry Carr who was out on the rampage too!

I then headed for a table where I got talking to Niall and Linda O’Donnell from Belfry Drive who were with kids Dean and Amy and their favourite brother-in-law Paul Newell from Laurel Grove and were going to party the night away.

Not too long later I met up with Shane Greene from Mill Street and Peter Nixon from Belfry Gardens who weren’t going to finish the night there but wanted it know that they were DYI (Dundalk Young Irelands) till they die, good to know lads!

I just might have met Padjo and Anne O’Hare from Mill Street last year in the same pub, but I was delighted to meet them again, they assured me they were only out for a few ‘quick ones’ but that’s the way it all starts, specially on New Years Eve.

After this I headed over for a quick word with Christina O’Brien from Kilsaran who was with Michael Faulkner from Drogheda who were in great form and assured me that the Imperial was the place to be to see in 2019.

Not too long later I got taking to Rachel Keating from Meadow Grove who was with her cousin Megan McGuinness from Farndreg who assured me that the Imperial was going to be an epic night.

I then made my way to another table where I caught up with Aaron and Michelle Callan from Knockbridge who were enjoying the company of Anka Rosa-Murphy and husband Stephen Murphy from Dromiskin who didn’t care they were showing golf on the tv they were there to party, knowing Aaron and Michelle, that’s exactly what they were going to do, all night long!

Finally, before I departed, I met up with Natasha Quinn from Silverbridge, Erica Murphy from Culloville and Denise Buckley from Creggan who told me they had the best seats in the house and were going to party all the way till 2019 and beyond.

Easily one of the most popular places to see in the New Year had to Brubakers and I headed to see how the celebrations were going there and found a huge crowd all set to see in 2019.

I was only in the door and met up with the one and only boxing hero from town Amy Broadhurst from Glenmore Park who was with her fiend Aimee McMahon from Carrick Road who were looking exceptionally well and said they were staying in Bru’s to see in the New Year.

After this I headed over for a word with Eadaoin Casey from Dromiskin and Aaron Lamm from Castlebellingham who assured me it was going to be a massive night in Bru’s.

Next, I got a word with Sam Ali originally from Dublin but now living in Greenacres who was with Bob Tonis from Espania who was over on holidays and was looking forward to seeing how we see in the New Year.

I then got a word with Ruby Jay and Milen Milenkov from Distillery Lane who were in great form and looking forward to the best that Bru’s had to offer.

Heading for another table I met up with Kim Donegan and Peter McMahon both from Meath who told me they were looking forward to a mad night, once they had the babysitter organised, they were ready to party!

Not too long later I got talking to three ladies who were definitely there to party and they were Paula McGrath from Lennonstown Manor, Monika Janota from Carlinn Court and Veronika Rychla from Garrybawn who said the night always took on epic proportions one they all got tout together.

After this I caught up with Sean ‘Wardy’ Ward from Muirhevnamor and the delightful Rosie Lavery from Bellewsbridge who were there to enjoy the New Year together. Wardy did try to tell me they

were newlyweds, but Rosie was having none of it!

Next, I got talking to Kellie Sinclair from Dublin who was with Laura Ni Chinneide and Feilibh O’Cinneide both from Blackrock who were looking forward to a major night of celebrations in Bru’s.

Not too long later I had the pleasure of talking to Michelle Gray from Clontigora Court who was looking stunning and was going to be somewhat on the busy site on the night.

I then headed for a table where I met up with Pearse McGuigan from the Loakers,

Colleen Murphy from Ravensdale, Michelle Hunter from Saltown, Emma Kinch and Ryan Watters both from The Loakers who had their seats and were going to party all the to 2019 and beyond.

Finally, before I departed, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Aoife Kerr from Stonetown, Bronagh Lynch from Haggardstown, Sarah Leddy from Greengates and Shauna David from Stonetown who were looking exceptionally well and were going to have a totally insane night as they made their way into 2019.
