Public meeting on St Patrick’s Day parade

-

AS efforts continue to ensure that Dundalk has a St Patrick’s Day Parade this year, a public meeting has been organised for Thursday, January 17, in the County Museum at 7pm.

This follows a number of meetings between Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and officials from Louth County Council.

Chamber of Commerce PRO Paddy Malone said while the Chamber would no longer be able to take on with the commitment of running the parade, they would be more than happy to share their experience with anyone willing to take on with task of hosting the parade.

He said that the Chamber were no longer able to take on the responsibility of organising the parade due to a lack of manpower but would assist in sharing their knowledge gained from previous years.

‘We will be there to give whatever information we can and advice on what people did in the past.’ THE possibility of forming a committee to run this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade in 2019 and in future years will be discussed at the meeting.

As time is running out, with just three months until St Patrick’s Day, all interested parties, including representatives from the town’s business community and volunteer groups are are invited to attend. Anyone who would like to make a submission or attend, should email StPatrickDundalk2019@gmail.com
